GE Washer Repair in Palm Harbor: A DIY Knob Fix Gone Sideways

GE top-load washer and dryer set in a laundry room in Palm Harbor

A regular client of ours in Palm Harbor had the temperature selector knob on their GE top-load washer fall off.

Trying to fix it themselves before calling us, they pushed the knob back into place — but that shoved the switch underneath it back into the control panel, not just the knob.

An easy fix for a returning client

We unscrewed the control panel, pulled the switch back into position, and put everything back together correctly.

Since this client has been with us for a while, we didn’t charge for the repair itself — just the standard service call for coming out.

If a knob or dial on your washer or dryer has come loose, it’s worth having it looked at properly rather than pushing on it — the switch underneath can end up worse off than the knob was. See our washer repair page for what else we typically check.
