Samsung Washer Repair Near Regis Circle, Palm Harbor: A Stuck Water Valve Flooded the Garage

This client near Regis Circle in Palm Harbor wasn’t new to us — we’d previously replaced the heating element in their dryer. This time the call was about the washer, and it was a serious one: it had flooded the garage.

Tracking down why it overfilled

Talking through what happened, the picture became clear: the washer had kept filling with water well past the top of the drum, overflowing the whole time, and it never stopped on its own. The client tried unplugging it, and the water kept running anyway. The only thing that actually stopped it was shutting off the water supply at the shutoff valve.

That detail — water still flowing with the machine unplugged — rules out the control board and electronics entirely. If cutting power doesn’t stop the water, the problem has to be mechanical. On this washer, the water inlet valve assembly uses five separate coils, and one of them had stuck in the open position, letting water through with no electrical signal telling it to.

Fixed on the spot

We had the replacement valve assembly in stock, so we swapped it in right away.
