FAQ
Why is the rubber seal on my front-load washer black?
Moisture and detergent residue collect in the folds of the door gasket, and over time it turns dark. On this Kenmore the buildup had also worked into the channel behind the seal.
Can a dirty door gasket be replaced?
Yes. We take the front of the washer off, replace the rubber gasket with a new one, and put it back together. We did that here for new homeowners who didn't like the look of the old one.
