A Frigidaire Affinity electric dryer, model FASE7073NW0, in Pine Ridge at Lake Tarpon Village in Tarpon Springs was showing error E64.
What E64 means
E64 is the heater open circuit code. The dryer’s own tech sheet says to check the heater coils and connections for open circuits, then replace the heater or the wiring. We found the heater has three coils, and one of them wasn’t working. That’s what set the error.
The repair
We replaced the heater. Here are two heater housings side by side during the swap.
While it was open, we vacuumed the dryer and cleaned it out. Inside it’s like new now, and everything works.
Error codes and test mode
The dryer came with a tech data sheet. We typed it up as a separate page, with the service diagnostic mode and the error code list: Frigidaire Affinity dryer diagnostic mode and error codes.
